Winters End  38 x 32

Artist Statement: Spring does not officially arrive until the last vestige of ice disappears from the many lakes, sometimes as late the first week of May. In this panorama, the open water and the thin, glistening ice floes herald welcome warm weather. The silver birch will soon replace its dry copper leaves with fresh new buds.

Medium/Technique: Overlapped rough edge appliqué, thread painting, cotton, tulle and lamé.

Invitational Show: Canada Scapes, Curator: Gail Hunt

Venues: Quilt Museum, La Conner, WA, USA; Quilt Canada 2004, Winnipeg, MB
