Sailboat At Anchor 32 x 42

Artist’s Statement:   I can easily conjure up vivid images from our years of sailing on the lake-scudding white clouds in the blue, blue sky; dozens of billowing bright sails; shouts and laughter from passing craft. But this, too, I remember- dropping anchor in a secluded inlet; lying on the deck, lulled by the gentle rocking of the boat and soothed by the whisper of waves lapping the hull- a time for reflection.

Techniques:  Machine raw edge appliqué, machine quilted, hand dyed and commercial fabrics.
